How do I install Deckorators decking as Cladding?

Can Cladding be installed vertically or an angled Installation?

Yes, but for this, you'll need to face-screw into furring strips.

NOTE: The Stowaway clip does not work with the long length of the boards installed vertically or at an angle.

When installing Cladding, can I use Southern Yellow Pine furring strips that are 1.5" wide x 0.75" thick?

Yes, that should be fine as long as the furring strips are pressure-treated to resist rot. Ensuring they are properly treated will help maintain durability and longevity for your cladding installation.

Is it possible to attach the cladding by applying screws to the face of the deck board without showing the screw head?

Yes, we offer a screw made by Starborn known as the Pro Fastening System. This system allows you to counterbore a face screw through the board and into a furring strip and then cover the head of the screw hole with a plastic cap that is the same color as the cladding.
